Before your first conversation

A gentle introduction to choosing a practitioner and preparing for your first Ayema appointment.

Original Ayema platform guide · Optional information, not clinical advice

Start with the kind of support you want

You do not need a diagnosis or a perfect account of your story to explore the directory. Read the practitioner's discipline, professional scope, permitted locations and approach. Counselling, coaching, spiritual guidance and regulated psychotherapy are different services. Ask about anything you do not understand before agreeing to care.

Make a little room for the conversation

After your payment is verified, your appointment has its own care space. You can write a few optional preparation notes for your assigned practitioner. These notes stay separate from matchmaking and community activity. You can leave them blank if you would rather begin in person.

  • What brought me here today?
  • What would I like the practitioner to understand?
  • What would I like to ask before we begin?

You can begin at your own pace

The first session includes a conversation about suitability, confidentiality and goals. You can ask how the practitioner works, what is recorded and what the next step might be. A first appointment does not commit you to a subscription or a fixed programme.
